ALPHA PHI

 

We understand that as parents you want to ensure that your daughter has the best and most rewarding experiences college has to offer. (And we already know you and your daughter have excellent taste since she is here at Cal!) Alpha Phi is dedicated just like you to providing a special home for your daughter while she is here at UC Berkeley and for a lifetime after graduation.

 

At Alpha Phi, you can be assured that your daughter will thrive. She will encounter numerous opportunities that will allow her to become successful during her collegiate years and prepare her for endeavors as an alumna. She will receive academic support, learn the value philanthropy, and get involved with community service projects. She will have the chance to hold leadership positions and gain invaluable skills, and in the process she will make lifelong friends in a circle of sisterhood, loyalty, and love.

 

Becoming a member of Alpha Phi is the first step in joining a network of women that is 142 years in the making. Alpha Phis span the globe, both in our United States and Canada collegiate and alumnae chapters and professionally across many countries.

 

As Alpha Phis, we appreciate the bonds of sisterhood, and we love to share our unique sorority experience with our families. Every year we invite our parents and families to attend our Red Dress Gala, a beautiful event featuring a silent auction, catered dinner, dancing, speakers, and more. Funds raised at the Gala support our philanthropy, the Alpha Phi Foundation, which is committed to advancing leadership development, encouraging academic excellence, improving women's heart health, supporting sisters in need and educating about the value of philanthropy. This is an amazing opportunity to learn more about the organization that will shape your daughter’s college years, support a worthwhile cause, and get to know the women your daughter calls her sisters. Alpha Phi also has a six week New Member Program in which our newest members learn more about the history, philanthropy, and values of the organization and begin bonding with their sisters. Each member is assigned a Big Sister who will guide them through their New Member period and act as a mentor and friend throughout her time in college.
